International transit means sending small and large volumes of goods, letters and packages to all parts of the world. There are many reasons for supplying goods internationally, the most important of which is the price of the goods. The cost of transportation is very effective in the price of the goods.
International transportation is carried out by carrier or forwarding companies to move goods from one country to another. Carrier transport companies transport goods from the country of origin to the country of destination without intermediaries using specific methods. However, forwarder transport companies are companies that transport goods as intermediaries. Many goods lose the advantage of being offered in foreign markets and internationally due to the high cost of transportation.
Types of transportation methods
Sea transportation: The cost of sea transportation depends on the type of goods and the type of ship, which is determined by forwarders. The two important documents in sea transportation are the contract and the bill of lading, which is a contract between the exporter and the ship owner. The bill of lading is a document that the carrier of the goods issues as a document of ownership of the goods, and only the owner of the goods can take possession of the goods. Land transportation: The best method for transporting and moving fragile goods. In this method, goods require little or no packaging depending on their type, which saves on packaging. Air transportation: The speed of this type of method is very high, which allows valuable goods to reach their destination in the shortest possible time. Rail transportation: Large-volume cargo and distant destinations are transported at a relatively cheap cost and via rail. In this type of transportation, goods are transported via rail under the rules and regulations of the international contract for the carriage of goods. Rail transportation is much more economical and better in terms of energy consumption than road transportation. Combined Transport: Sometimes it is not possible to use one method to transport goods and two or more methods must be used to move goods. This type of multimodal transit is called combined transport, which uses a global bill of lading or a FIATA bill of lading. The FIATA bill of lading is a global transport document that is also used in truck, truck-rail, ship-truck transport.
